I’ve loved listening to your stories.
For nearly four and half years, I have interviewed, laughed with, learned from, been inspired by and written about more than 70 artists and culture makers in Waterloo Region.
I have chatted with people in cafes, bars, their studios, at events, in their living rooms, in my living room and even at a blacksmith forge. I feel incredibly lucky to have met so many interesting and inspiring people. It has been a delight to tell their stories.
And I’m honoured you’ve consistently read my words and shared them with your networks.
It’s been an amazing adventure.
However, after much reflection and deliberation, I’ve decided it’s time to retire the red leather booth. At least for now. I need to make some space for other pursuits.
Books, music, art, film, food, photography – all of these things make me excited and spark my own creativity. So I will continue to attend openings, shows and festivals, and seek out the work of talented artists. Being part of a thriving arts community makes Waterloo Region a much more interesting, dynamic and creative place to be.
When you see me around town or on Twitter, let’s settle into a real or imaginary red leather booth and have a good conversation about arts and culture. It will be good for both of us.
Until next time,
Jude Doble

Oh no! Just as I had moved to the region and was excited about having discovered your blog! Well, good luck with your next adventure. I will content myself with reading your previous posts. There’s enough to keep me going for a while… 😉

Great blog that will be missed – I enjoyed your viewpoint and writing style and loved being up to date on local artists. If you do return to the booth, I know it will be worth it
